Abstract

This paper presents the work carried out for the digitization and transcription of a sample of clinical records belonging to the Neurogenetics Center archive in Lamezia Terme (CZ) dealing with the treatment of neurodegenerative illness. The main purposes
of this work are equally that of preserving the cultural value of scientific research on the  disease and of creating a digital categorized infrastructure within which the informative tissue, resulted by the handwritten text recognition and transcription, can be exploited for computational studies and, thus, facilitating the retrieval operations over clinical data  to use in a wide-scope health system research.
