Abstract

The chapter reconstructs the history and evolution of the concept of sexuality education, identifying its main perspectives and basic concepts, in order to dwell on the ambivalence and criticality of the Italian situation. In fact, educating for affectivity and
sexuality means deconstructing prejudices, stereotypes and roles that are deeply rooted in society and in common thinking and that unconsciously tend to perpetuate inequalities and gender violence, and promoting a transversal culture to address the principles that constitute the basis of affection and affectivity.
