Abstract

The essay analyzes an unpublished inventory made in Cagliari in 1720 in which are described the records kept in the office of the Maestro Razionale of the Kingdom of Sardinia, a major officer operating in Sardinia since the Middle Ages. This tool provides new information on the state of Sardinian archives prior to the archival reforms implemented by the Savoy sovereigns in Sardinia during the 18th century.
